Best Airbnb Interior Design Style Inspiration:
1. Hollywood Regency
Design: Cat Collier-Martinez | @catcolliermartinez | catcolliermartinez.com
Photographer: Morgan Nowland | morgannowland.com
This stunning & luxurious space is total eye candy! Vacation rental host Katie Knutson was inspired by the Hollywood Regency design style for her Chattanooga, TN vacation rental, a look characterized by luxury and glam elements with bold, dramatic colors reminiscent of Hollywood movie sets in the 1920s-1950s.
I absolutely love the color scheme– teal blue walls and a lively coral pop, as well as the glitzy bronze and gold accents throughout the space. Take note how cohesive the rooms are, both living room and bedroom taking on the same color pallet and style throughout. The design is just brilliant!
Achieve a Hollywood Regency Interior Design:
The Hollywood Regency style is bold, glamorous, and dramatic with vibrant colors and a focus on luxury. Many times you’ll find vintage pieces, mirrors, and metallic finishes. Some of the key characteristics to keep in mind to achieve this style are:
- Vibrant colors
- Luxury finishes like velvet and metallics
- Vintage pieces
- Use of Black and White contrast
- Maximalism as well as layered textures and pieces

2. Modern Rustic w/ Scandinavian Vibes

I love a modern take on your classic rustic cabin and this host executed that with perfection! Celeste of Parklin Interiors is the host and designer of this gorgeous A-frame in Bryson City, NC. Inspired by the Scandinavian design style, this look boasts lots of wood tones with other beautiful natural elements like a cozy animal hide rug & decor touches like the clay pot centerpiece.
The space emanates that cabin-rustic feel, but not in that dated sort of way that I often see in many other cabin Airbnb listings. The modern light fixtures and Scandinavian style really elevate the look in a trendy and chic fashion. But I also love how she stayed true to the original characteristics of the home and wasn’t tempted to take anything away from (read: paint) that gorgeous wood to trend it up too much.
Get a Scandinavian Cabin Interior Look:
The Scandinavian design style is characterized by simplicity, clean lines, and a heavy influence from nature. There is a lean toward minimalism and a lack of clutter, but in a way that still feels warm and cozy. Color schemes remain neutral, many times featuring a lot of wood tones and the occasional pop of color. Here are the main characteristics to stick to:
- Simple furnishings with clean lines
- Neutral, calming color pallet
- An occasional pop of color
- Clean, but cozy
- Lots of wood tones
- Natural elements

3. Postmodern with a Touch of MCM
I am in love with this stunning Airbnb crafted by designer @casa_magda! Fun yet cozy; black and whites paired with bright colors; and geometric shapes with a few natural elements– the juxtaposition in this gorgeous space leaves you awe-inspired! The host & designer of this Catskills getaway, branded as Casa Magda, was heavily inspired by Postmodernism, so you’ll see lots of geometrics, metallic accents, and furnishings reminiscent of the 70s and 80s.
Get the Postmodern Look:
Postmodernism is the design movement that emerged after the Mid Century Modern era in the 1970s & 80s and pushed interior design into a new realm of out-of-the box designs and more freedom of artistic expression. Form began to supersede function, so Postmodern style really pushes the boundaries of the Mid Century Modern design by adding in flashy colors & bold shapes, and impractical, dramatic decor pieces.
Today’s postmodern design, however, has toned down a little since its introduction the first go around in the 1970s, so you can definitely still achieve this look while maintaining a soft, inviting environment and more of a neutral color pallet. The main point of postmodern is that there are really no rules, but here are some things you’re going to want to look for to achieve a postmodern design:
- Bold, sculptural shapes
- Form over function
- Materials like brass, terazzo, colored glass or plastics
- Vintage pieces of the 70s and 80s
- Color pallet is flexible
4. Glam
The host of this gorgeous townhouse in Omaha, NE, described her place as having swanky glam vibes with a traces of beehive theme, and I am totally here for it! I love the cohesion between the golden yellows as well as the brass elements found throughout the space- not to mention the eye-grabbing wallpapered accent wall right on theme with the color pallet.
In the bedroom, the golden honeycomb quilt has such luxury appeal that feels so inviting. Paired with the golden table lamps that are dramatically large in scale, the whole room gives off a glamorous feel that I find so fun! The perfect stay for a girl’s weekend.
How to Get a Glam Style Interior:
Similarly to the Hollywood Regency design style, Glam is all about luxury and drama, but typically begins with little more of a neutral backdrop instead of vibrant colors. It’ll have lots of elements of traditional style, but with ornate and bold finishes and you’ll see lots of metallics, mirrors, velvet, and sparkly chandeliers. Here are the things to look for:
- Luxurious furniture made with velvet, has tufts, or is bold in color
- A focus on ornamentals
- Incorporates gold, silver, and bronze finishes
- Elegant textures like satin, silk, leather, and fur
- Chandeliers and mirrors

5. Boho
Photographer: @saritarelisphotography
I’m getting all the California boho vibes from this beautiful vacation home in Montecito, CA. There’s something about this style that’s a little bit relaxing, but at the same time slightly stimulating in a fun and intriguing way.
Vacation Rental designer Christine Cowles did an amazing job creating that carefree, good-vibes-only inspired space that is distinctive of the Boho style. She features organic and natural elements against the soft backdrop of whites and neutrals. I just love how she erred toward the subtle end of the spectrum when it comes to Boho, taking a less-is-more approach.
Get the Boho look:
The Boho, or Bohemian design style is characterized by an eclectic mixture of collected, meaningful elements that come together to create a creative and free-spirited look that can be personalized to your specific style and taste.
There are really no rules when it comes to the Boho style and you can take a number of different approaches to this look. For example, you could incorporate lots of color, or you can take a neutral approach, like Christine did. One of the characteristics that is pretty much standard across most boho interpretations is borrowing from the natural world. You’ll see lots of organic textures and textiles like woven pieces, jute, and rattan.
Here’s what to look for when designing your Boho space:
- Textures & patterns
- Organic and natural pieces
- A mix and match of decor pieces
- Collected, meaningful pieces
- Cozy rugs
